This may sound like a wonderful idea until you see all the coconuts rolling over the incline belts at a NDC. These are not being removed from mechanization and roll off the belts when they start and stop. Much of the art work and address is removed from rolling around. It would help greatly if they were in a box.

Enjoy all the podcasts. Read the comments of others. Continue to feature unusual post offices and personnel/offerings. As for art consider featuring the postal art at various post offices most of this art I am told was part of the old "New Deal" initative that put Americans back to work post the Great Depression. Preserving this history and art could help some "starving" artist(s) of today. I know that LInk had a short story on thisart a while back.

Such a wanderful, creative idea! Would love to receive something like this in the mail. Hopefully other areas can come up with ideas from their towns to promote mail. Wish I could be so ingenious! Thank you for the great podcast.

I think that since post offices runs itself like its own business using no tax money. Then no one should have a say about how the business is ran. Nobody tells microsoft or pizza hut what stays open or closed.

I would like to see artists get together on a national scale to promote sending art through the mail. Art is an interactive experience of all the senses. Without the presence of physical art, viewing art is missing a complete experience.

One of the best Podcasts ever. I would love to receive a coconut in the mail, but don't know anyone travelling to Mr. Lam's PO. We have Stamps By Mail; how about Coconuts by Mail? Postal Art is wonderful, too. I used to be a Window Clerk and loved when Postal Artists came in to mail items, featuring hand-made/decorated paper, beautiful graphics, lettering and stamps. Creative customers also mailed beach balls with messages written on them, messages in bottles, etc. These are the type of innovations sorely needed by USPS.

I thoroughly enjoyed the May 2012 podcast. Postmaster Gary Lam has gone above and beyond to raise revenue for the Postal Service. It is truly a wonderful idea for tourists to create lasting tokens of their vacation. Peter Kramer is also an outstanding customer. Many people are so busy using email or bill pay that they must have forgotten the happiness experienced when receiving a card or gift in the mail. Kudos to Mr. Kramer for raising awareness. I would really like to see all of the pictures that were on display at the exhibit. Thank you.
